Announcing the New Waggle Room Golf Broadcast Team
Ryan hasn't made this news public yet, so I will be the one to spill the beans.
Beginning with the 2010 Honda Thailand, representatives of Waggleroom and the golf blogosphere will do the LPGA's foreign television broadcasts. This is how it will shape up:
- Producer: Sal Johnson
- Player interviews: Stephanie Wei
- On-course cameraperson: Courtgolf
- On-course reporters: Hound Dog and The Constructivist
- In the tower at 18: Bill and Ryan
As you can see, this is a very budget team that's been put together. Hotel accommodations will be at inns that make Super 8s look like the Hong Kong Peninsula by comparison.
Transport across the Pacific will be done in a DC-3 nicknamed the 'Amelia Earhart.'
Highlights of Waggle Room's 2010 golf season will include:
- Our first trans Pacific golf flight sees the Captain fly us over the Howland Island close to where Amelia Earhart was lost. As this is happening, the flight engineer mumbles something about a fuel discrepancy. We survive the ditching in the Pacific Ocean and get to Thailand just hours before the broadcast is to begin. The show must go on.
- In Singapore, Ryan climbs to the roof of the tower at 18 and threatens to dive off head first if Bill again compares the close finish to what happened at the 1982 Outer Mongolia Open.
- When visiting South Korea, Hound Dog does a report on Elvis impersonators in the Republic of Korea.
- Courtgolf gets quarantined upon entry in China. Local officials suspect CG has the Swine Flu. For a week, CG is forced to stay in a hotel room where the only programs are in English are either an all-day Zombie or Gilligan's Island festival.
- Ai Miyazato wins the Mizuno Classic. A fight breaks out between Stephanie and The Constructivist about who gets to do the interview.
I had a vision! That's how I know all of this.

woohoo ! I’ll start growing my porn star mustache and cranking up the volume on my camera so the “click and whirr” is as annoying as possible…maybe I’ll get a new Nike driver out of it. :-)

You guys should use a Lockheed L-10E Electra like Earhart did.

Personaly I would welcome a new broadcast team
I know your probably just joking, however I for one would be very happy to replace the chuckleheads and so-called panel of experts @ TGC. Nobilo is one of the few that know what their talking about. Good website waggleroom.com , I’ve been spreading the word…progolf

hey, Bill...
Can I fly the airplane?
Truth has a well-known liberal bias.

Yes you can fly the plane as long as CG is not the co-pilot.

not a problem – I’ll be in the back in deep prayer. :-)

I call Carell's character!
But I’d play Chris Farley in any Ai-sama interview. “Remember when you made that putt on 8? That was cool.”

sure – but would you live in a van down by the river ?

I'd take a John Madden bus...
…wouldn’t take much to airlift it from event to event, right? Diane can fly those huge cargo planes, right?

On course reporter?
Might have to haul me around in a cart after the first week or two.
There are far too many Korean Elvis impersonators for me to report on comprehensively in only one week’s time.
Bill in the tower? And you thought Johnny Miller was abrasive!
