Sherpa Chair: Taking Away Excuses From Lazy Golf Media
As someone who goes to a good number of golf tournaments, there is nothing that golf media hates more than not having a comfortable seat. That's why the media center is awesome - it has chairs and nature does not. (Also, there's free food and drinks in the media center.) Well, us media and all golf fans may finally have a good solution to cure that chair problem.
A few weeks ago, the folks at Sherpa Chair sent me a sample of their unique chair. It is a lightweight, portable chair that can be comfortably taken around golf courses for watching golf. The chair's about five pounds and can be carried via either a handle or backpack straps on the chair. It's pretty easy to carry around.
Sitting in the chair is also simple. Unfold the chair in about three steps and you have yourself a nice seat - with a back and a cup holder! The only other chair that I've seen people carry at events has no back, which stinks if you plan to stay at a hole for a while.
Also, the chair has a pouch to fit your program or a bottle of water while you soldier on between holes.
Now, the price of the chair is $30. So, if you don't go to a lot of tournaments or go to a decent number of spectator events, then it's probably not worth it. Still, if you go to your kids' sporting events, campfires, tailgates, and such, this chair pays for itself over time.
It's well worth a look!

RB – you’re forgetting who you’re nudging – give these chairs to the media and they’ll complain that there’s no Sherpa to carry it for them. :-)
