LPGA Fans, Shoprite Is Back As An LPGA Title Sponsor

Remember four years ago when then-commissioner Carolyn Bivens proved she had no sense at all in shunning the 25 year sponsorship of Shoprite in Atlantic City in favor of the Ginn Tribute?  Well, now Shoprite is not only back as a title sponsor, but they're back in Atlantic City!

Jon Show is reporting (subscription required) that Shoprite has signed on for a new event in Atlantic City.  It'll be 54 holes and played at the Seaview Marriott.

Even more important, that's an excuse for me to hit the Borgata poker room.

We'll get details on the full schedule on Wednesday when Marty Evans and Mike Whan release that together in Houston at the Tour Championship.

Now bring back the ADT!

So the women will play in West Palm Beach again and I can get credentialed to cover it.

When I blogged

the tournaments I was credentialed for, I wrote about the tournament and not the press even though Doug Ferguson stuck his foot in his mouth twice the week of the 2007 ADT. Off the course LPGA news that came up that week I did blog about. Like Carolyn Bivens press conference, the schedule for the next year, a new tournament coming to Florida etc.

I walked the course for at least 9 holes with one group and report on it every day. For Round 1 of the ADT I struck gold or lucked out. Since I went out and followed Christina Kim for 14 holes and she ended the day as the first round leader.

In Dougie’s defense, it IS sort of hard to get a clear view of things with your head shoved that far up Tiger Woods’ rectum. :-)
