Learn to Become the Best Putter in the World
Remember in 2008 when Vijay Singh won a couple of events on the PGA Tour schedule - the WGC event in Akron and the Barclays - after he convinced himself that he was the best putter in the world? For all of the snickers about the irony of that fact, there is some real truth to the power of belief.
Almost every golfer knows that one of the biggest components of success in golf is confidence. This is especially true on the greens. But, confidence is not easily built - and is easily destroyed. It happens to golfers of all kinds. This is what Seeitgolf is trying to prevent with its first DVD entitled Aaron Baddeley: Putting, which they recently sent to me.
The product is a fifteen minute DVD (which comes with digital copy) of produced video of Aaron Baddeley going through his putting routine from a variety of camera angles. The camera shoots from putter view, overhead, with a putting line (a la Aimpoint), and from the standard view seen on television. Footage was shot with an RED camera, whose video quality surpasses even HD, though that is lost in not having a Blu-Ray player. The video is set to an original score of soothing, new age kind of music that is pretty relaxing.
The idea behind the DVD is that golfers should watch the video before they play golf, absorb the visual and audio cues of a perfect putt, and then take those cues and confidence to the course. The DVD comes with a 30 day training plan produced by renowned teacher Stan Utley (who has a new website, by the way) and Dr. David Cook.
Even if I were to never learn anything from the training plan, this is a beautiful DVD that is as close as it gets to the manifestation of Happy Gilmore's happy place.

I can see the point of full swings and chipping DVD’s like this – I still love watching those super slo-motion videos of Tiger Woods that Nike produced a few years back…but PUTTING ? And Aaron Baddely on top of that. Yes, he’s a better putter than me – always has been – always will be…but putting is so individualistic. What can you possibly learn from something like ths ? Even Baddely doesn’t move that slow over a putt.
