Samsung Not Returning As Title Sponsor Of LPGA Event at Torrey Pines

SBJ's Jon Show is reporting that Samsung will end its title sponsorship of the Samsung World Championship - the 20 player, hyper-limited field event that was played this year at Torrey Pines. This marks the end of a fifteen year sponsorship of the tournament. Show also reports that tournament owner IMG does not have a contract with the LPGA Tour to run the event in '10.

doesn’t look good for the future of this tournament. seriously. how do you go to a prospective sponsor and ask them to put money behind the Samsung World Championships ?

Then again – how about Spam ? The Spamsung World Championship has a yummy ring to it ! :-D
