Angel Cabrera Had A Bad Day Yesterday
Angel Cabrera was going to play in this week's European Tour event so that he could qualify for the Dubai World Championship in November. He needed just this one more event in order to be able to play the minimum 12 events required to get into the $15 million money grab.
Blame it on bad weather, but Cabrera's plane was held up leaving Bermuda and the PGA of America Grand Slam of Golf. He couldn't make it to Spin on time for his Thursday tee time and was slapped with a DNS.
Even worse, as Reuters reports, the tournament was suspended for three hours due to high wind on Thursday - just 12 minutes after Cabrera missed his tee time. In fact, Cabrera's playing partners were on the first green when play was suspended.
