Welcome to The Prognosticator: Telling Golf's Future
Here at Waggle Room, I'm always trying to create a new segment that's fun and informational - creating what is known as infotainment. Well, this is the latest attempt.
Welcome to The Prognosticator. It's a weekly segment where I try to predict three future happenings in golf based upon either:
- little information
- some information
- full information
- absolutely nothing substantiated to back my claim
Now, I'll tell you on which basis I am making such predictions so we can go back later and see how I did. (And if I'm wrong enough, we'll just go ahead and suspend this segment and say that it never happened.)
This week's predictions:
- Pete Bevacqua will be offered and take the LPGA Commissioner job (basis: little information)
- Rickie Fowler will earn his PGA Tour card for 2010 (basis: some information, tournament play in '09)
- The HSBC Champions will kick off FedExCup PGA Tour swing of multiple co-sponsored Asian events, perhaps including the Hong Kong Open (basis: I just made that up)
But, I don't want to be the only swami in the world. I want you to comment with things that you think will happen in the world of golf based upon the same categories! Then, we'll come back to the predictions and see how many of them actually come true.
Anything in the world of golf is game: golf business, outcomes of golf tournaments and awards, golf equipment, coaching changes. It's all game. All I ask is that you only try to predict 12 months into the future. Or otherwise it'll be really hard for me to figure them all out.

Haha, big favor?
The wedding is 5/22/10. Don’t worry – the goatee is gone now. I have a beard!

Courtgolf and Michelle Wie will get engaged, but Court won’t set a date until Michelle wins a tournament.
cg and I agree on lots of things
it’s just that none of them are socio-economic or political.
Truth has a well-known liberal bias.
