It's Splitsville for Greg Norman & Chris Evert
After just fifteen months of marriage, Greg Norman and Chris Evert announced their separation today. According to Doug Ferguson's report, the announcement was made today to prevent speculation about Evert's absence at next week's President's Cup.
So, instead, Norman will be peppered with questions about his separation at Harding Park - as opposed to questions about Chrissy's absence. But, since the Presidents Cup is consistently mocked by the media, would any member of the media seriously noticed? Maybe, but the headlines would still be negative either way.
This marks the end of the second marriage for Norman, after a messy, public divorce from his first wife Laura that ended in a reported $100 million settlement.
The separation is also the second major split of the year for the Norman family. Greg's daughter, Morgan-Leigh, called off her relationship with Sergio Garcia earlier in the year.
Not knowing whether Greg & Chrissy's separation was amicable or one-sided, the Norman family may get a reputation as having a fear of commitment.
There's a joke about Norman's performance in the majors somewhere in there, but I'll leave that to you.

oh – Greggie’s not going to get off as easily as he did in the first divorce. $100 mil is going to feel like lunch money when Evert gets her way. Gee – I wonder who predicted this before the wedding ?
oh #2 – any media member who mocks the President’s Cup should be in the unemployment line. It is not the job of the media to schedule events, but to cover them. The Cup may be pretty one sided, but these 24 golfers deserve a little more respect than – no matter the history or outcome.

Commitment is overrated. LOL.
Oh and Court, I’m not so sure the settlement’ll break down that way. In her last divorce Chris Evert paid Andy Mills $7 million + he got the $4 million house in Aspen… and a pile of cars including a Porsche !! Unless Gregg did something really …um, unseemly… I think they’ll just part ways taking their respective fortunes with them, :o)

go back further – hubby #1 (John Lloyd) got raked through the coals – though he might have ended up thinking it was worth it. She was screwing around with Andy Mills before they broke up…then the same thing from Mills to Norman. She definitely had more money in the Mills years.
AND – there’s a slight bit of difference in a skiier and a near billionaire golf guy. :-)

He got one right
Back in July, Greg predicted in my Pick One Interview that Geelong would be the Aussie Rules champs and win the Grand Final against St. Kilda. And he was right!
What can I say, I’m still a fan. Can’t help it. He was the first golfer I ever cared about, I mean watched. ;o)
Totally agree with Court on the President’s Cup—well said.

Chrissie was seen locally
hand-in-hand with Sergio Garcia. Neither ex-wife Laura nor daughter Morgan Norman had any comment.
