Country Music Star to Play in Golf Tourney...in Scotland
Clay Walker is a country music singer who is doing pretty well for himself here in the ole US of A. He has sold some 11 million record and has 11 #1s on the country charts.
Apparently, he has a new single coming out in November. So, what better way to promote that single than by playing in a pro-am tournament? But, in Scotland? Well, Walker - an eight handicap - will be playing in the pro-am at this week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the European Tour.
Don't get me wrong, I would play in this tournament even if all I had to promote was Sarah Palin's memoirs because of getting to play Barnsides, St. Andrew's, and Carnoustie. Scotland just does not seem like a place that gets country music, or George Lopez's humor. Then again, Lopez is playing as well.
Perhaps, though, Walker's appearance may help raise awareness for his foundation that works to raise money and provide educational services to those living with multiple sclerosis.

OR maybe
MS knows no international boundaries and there are people in the UK as interested in a cure as people on this side of the pond.
I’ve never heard of this Walker guy, but I avoid country music. There are undoubtedly Scots who like the stuff though.
Truth has a well-known liberal bias.
