FedEx Cup Curse? Maybe It's Just FedEx.
The Angry Golfer (aka John Hawkins aka guy on camera 2 on The Grey Goose 19th Hole) writes about how it might be a good idea for FedEx to stop sponsoring so many sports. Most of the article doesn't really have a point. But, the last paragraph got my attention on the eve of the FedEx BCS National Championship Game:
Clearly, these folks know how to get stuff there on time. Maybe they should sit down with the BCS and the PGA Tour to talk about delivering some playoffs. All anyone talks about is how college football doesn't have one. Nobody talks about how pro golf does.
FedEx sponsors big championships that don't really live up to their billing. Maybe that is a part of the "value proposition."

ok - that's really dumb
RRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY dumb. Just the thought of asking a SHIPPING company to design sports playoffs would have have some poor sap excused from the meeting room if it was brought up in a business meeing.
If Grey Goose didn’t keep putting money behind this show – it would have been cancelled years ago.

Haha
I thought the piece was a phone in, but the interesting link of FedEx behind two concepts that constantly get railed struck me.
