FedEx Cup Curse? Vijay to Undergo Surgery
Apparently, winning the FedEx Cup means that you're going to bust up your leg just in time to impact your next season. It happened to Tiger Woods and he couldn't fully defend his FedEx Cup title. And now, it's going to happen to Vijay Singh.
Over at Golf Observer, I saw a link to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin report on Vijay withdrawing from the Sony Open in Hawaii. He will play this week's Mercedes Benz Championship as a former* champion. Paul Arentt says Singh will then undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus and miss approximately five weeks.
*Thanks to Doug for noticing my boo-boo. Vijay has won this event (2007).

bench worthy?
This is a hilly course – walking with a bad knee probably isn’t a good thing – I was going to put him on my team, too…but now may need to reconsider. But maybe the fact that he’s still playing this week means he can still play well enough to win?
En Joie or bust
So Tim Finchem’s creation is a curse. All I say is scrap this dumb thing and bring back the BC Open!
Defending?
I think Daniel Chopra is the defending champ at the Mercedes this year.
* Par: 36-37—73 Yards: 7,411 Purse: $5,600,000
* Def. Champ: Daniel Chopra – SWE, 274 (18-under)

very hilly, but...
…the hills pretty much roll with just a couple of exceptions (#18). It’s not a terribly hard walk. Augusta is a harder walk than the Plantation course.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Good insight on ANGC
I think he will stick it out, but you never know.
