It'sssssssss MONTY!
Colin Motgomerie is the 2010 Ryder Cup captain, as announced this morning by the European player committee before the Dubai Desert Classic. In 2010, he will be the youngest European Ryder Cup captain at age 47. One of its most prolific players, Monty will captain the Europeans in a home gome in Wales.

Can't you see the resemblance?
It is likely that the decision to give the captaincy to Montgomerie at this juncture was based on two things:
(1) Monty would be 51 in 2014, when he was expected to become captain at Gleneagles. Monty has gone on record, along with other players, as saying that their captains have to get younger because Nick Faldo served a shining example of how out of touch 50+ players are with today's younger stars.
(2) If Monty were given the 2012 assignment in the United States, he might well knock a Yankee out - or get knocked out.
