My LPGA Crystal Ball for 2009
I just got it back from the geek squad. For some reason I was getting Peter Kessler on The Golf Channel from it. Talk about time warps......
Here we go
1 Shin JY*
Mulligan Stu agrees with me on Shin over Ochoa. Shin was surging at the end of 2009 and Ochoa was going in the opposite direction. Lorena is getting married this year. I think Shin is going to edge her off the top spot at least for 2009.
2 Ochoa*
3 Yang
4 Creamer* **
5 SH Lee
More after the jump...
6 Hull
7 Tseng
8 V Hurst **
9 Pettersen
10 Wie **
11 Han
12 Jang
13 Kerr **
14 A Park
15 Stanford **
16 Webb
17 JY Lee
18 EH Ji
19 Feng
20 Castrale **
21 Lewis
22 IK Kim
23 Prammanasudh**
24 Pak
25 Pressel**
26 C Kim **
27 MH Kim
28 Stupples
29 NY Choi
30 Lincicome
*- Denotes winner of a major championship
**- Make the Solheim Cup team. I also predict no Asian American golfer(Under the age of 35. Call this the Pat Hurst clause) gets picked by Beth Daniel as a captain's selection so Wie, Hurst, Prammanasudh,C Kim or any others(Jane Park) will have to make it the old fashioned way. interesting
Your Top 30 isn’t significantly different than any of the others I’ve seen, but I’m interested in your Major winners and Solheim picks. You list only three Major winners, so you’re thinking someone will get two. I’m thinking Shin.
Wie, V. Hurst, Prammanasudh, C. Kim and J. Park each have at least one Asian parent. I think Stacy and maybe Jane will earn their way on the team. Until Wie proves she isn’t divisive she’ll never be a captain’s pick. Vicky hasn’t proven she can compete at the near the elite end of the LPGA yet, so I don’t know if she’ll make it on her own. If Christina doesn’t make it either on her own or as a captain’s pick, there is no justice.
Truth has a well-known liberal bias.
My prediction
is that Wie and V Hurst play well enough this year to make it off the points list.
Yes I’m predicting someone wins two majors. I’ll be coy when it comes to who. :-)
