Thomas Bonk of the LA Times with a segment that I called Weekly Ratings Pain at the GNN Blog and am officially bringing here - with awful Paint-made graphic to boot!

The third round Saturday of the BMW Championship had a 1.1 overnight rating on NBC, down from a 2.6 in 2007; and Sunday's fourth round had a 1.2 overnight rating, down from a 3.2 in 2007.

Basically 40% of last year's ratings. Nice.

I always wonder...

…about weather affected tournaments like this. No Friday round. Second and third rounds are a mess with no completion of the third round on Saturday. Do people just lose interest when schedules are messed up ?

Add football to the mix and who’s going to watch ?

I watched...

…on Sunday. I only watched a little on Saturday because I was out playing golf myself. I do think the football season has an effect – although I’m guessing there are a lot of “flippers” who switch back and forth with so many commercials.

I didn’t watch on Saturday because I was travelling – didn’t watch much on Sunday because the Fed Ex Cup was already in the bag for Singh…ok…and I needed a nap after a few days out of town. :-)

It’s funny how some days my swing feels so right and every shot feels great…I had one of those days. Of course the next day I had a case of the pulls and was right back into reality. But it’s those good days that keep me coming back!
