RATINGS PAIN!!1!!: Tour Championship Edition

Despite the great golf, it was pretty ugly... (thanks Thomas Bonk)
Saturday's third round on NBC had an overnight Nielsen rating of 1.3, down 46.4% from last year's 2.8 (that turned out to be a 2.6 in the final rating).
Sunday's fourth round had an overnight rating of 1.8, down 54.5% from last year's 3.3 (a 3.0 final rating).
Blegh. That means that the Ryder Cup is the only event this year to see an increase in viewership from the last time it was played.

this surprises you ?
for three weeks, we have had to listen to the media “experts” tell us that there was no reason to watch The Tour Championship…errr…the Fed Ex Cup finale because Vijay had already won it. Nevermind that there was an actual tournament going on.

lovely weekend
I don’t know what the weather was like where you are, but we had clear skies, light winds, low humidity and temps in the low 80s. I was out playing (poorly I might add), which beat the heck out of sitting on my a** watching over-paid crybabies.
