Ochoa's putting

Not that this is a terrible thing to do on its own - but I wonder if anybody else has been watching the women play at the Navistar this week - especially Lorena Ochoa.

She's been leaving a lot of putts short and it looks to me like she's rocking back to her right side as the putter is going forward.  If she's doing what it looks like to me, that would cause her to hit the putt a little thin and take away speed that would probably get the putt to the hole.

Am I imagining things ?  Anybody else see this ?

rocking back

Lorena has done that since childhood according to most of the commentators I’ve heard opine on the subject. She spent last off-season trying to correct that part of her stroke and was fairly successful early in the season. She’s got it back. If you watch closely, she does it with every club in her bag. No one has ever accused Lorena of having a picture perfect swing, but she’s really very effective.

very true...

…but putting ain’t the full swing. Guess I’m just not used to seeing her leave this many putts short.

It seems

To have been more prominent lately in what I’ve seen. Hopefully she’ll straighten that out.

WELL WELL !

look who’s back from the victory party ! How ’bout them Terps :-)

Unfortunately, the Dawgs aren’t doing as well…and Mickelson is at the game.

Lorena always does that...

and makes more putts than anybody but when she starts missing, the commentators (Judy Rankin most consistently) immediately insist that she’s moving her head too much. Seems to work in the overall scheme of things, I’d say!

well ok

I’m not talking about her head cock – though that’s one of the weirdest little moves around. I don’t remember her rocking all the way to her right side in the putting stroke when she was steamrolling tournaments at the beginning of the year and last year.
