Completely Unfunny LPGA English Reaction

Evan Rothman tried really hard to be funny in this Golfweek reaction piece, but he completely missed the mark. I didn't laugh once. And I laugh a lot. Good try, though, Evan!

Norm MacDonald is hilarious for telling jokes that are unfunny. This was not that kind of funny.

ah, humor!

I prefer Lisa Mickey’s low-key defense of the policy myself, precisely b/c she stays so serious and thoughtful throughout, but I do have a weak spot for bad jokes, so snorted a few times at <a href=‘http://www.travelgolf.com/blogs/kiel.christianson/2008/08/28/useful_phrases_for_lpga_players_studying">Kiel Christianson’s Rothman-style piece.

I disagree with Lisa

And told her so, in an email. But she sure can write. (Although I couldn’t help pointing out a couple of typos. Occupational hazard.)

glad he has a day job

I’m guessing Evan’s friends don’t encourage him to go to Open Mic nights at the comedy club – but he did throw in a few good cliche’s worth a chuckle. He’s pretty much right on the money on the level of English the players are going to have to speak.

The last line, however, was out of line and definitely wasn’t funny.
