Making a Case for the Ryder Cup Team

Hunter Mahan fired 62 to take a four shot lead through the first round of the Barclays at Ridgewood CC. He had eight birdies, one eagle, and a bogey. He is looking for a Ryder Cup spot, but currently sits on the outside looking in at 12th in the standings. Many have said that his comments about the PGA of America and the Ryder Cup may ultimately compel Captain Zinger to leave Mahan off of the team. But, if Mahan posts more rounds like this, I think that bridge can be rebuilt.

…but he did it without wearing chains or any other device associated with slavery. I’m still not convinced he is up to those kinds of conditions Ryder Cup players have to face. :-)
