Dougherty Finishes 2nd, Helps Ryder Cup Case

We reported earlier in the week that Nick Dougherty was trying to take advantage of the absences of several of his Ryder Cup competition in the SAS Masters on the European Tour.  He managed to do just that by finishing in a tie for 2nd, just one shot behind eventual champion Peter Hansen.

He sat on 14th entering the week and it appears that he will not move from that position.  But, he is making a stronger case for Nick Faldo's consideration - particularly after a missed cut at the PGA Championship.
