Senior Open

Just found this in Thomas Bonk’s article today in The LA Times – don’t know how many tennis players there are reading this but…

Another week, another major

It’s back-to-back majors for the over-50 set, which is doubly taxing on both the psyche and the body, but that’s what the schedule calls for this week when the U.S. Senior Open follows up the Senior British Open.

So it’s Troon, Scotland, to Colorado Springs, Colo., and the Broadmoor for the Open. The USGA received 2,810 entries this year and qualifying decided the final places in the 156-player field.

Among them is Ron Kramer, 52, of Chino Hills, who qualified at the SCGA Golf Course in Murrieta.

Kramer is a son of tennis legend Jack Kramer.
