big one on the JLPGA this week
They call it the Players Championship and it’s definitely in the running for the JLPGA’s 5th major. 3rd-biggest purse on the schedule and a top-notch field. As far as I know, Bo-Bae Song is the only top 20 player skipping it—she’s at the Evian Masters, with Ai Miyazato and Momoko Ueda.

Will be very interesting to see if the 2 repeat winners on tour this season-Yuri Fudoh and Akiko Fukushima (top 2 on the career money list, as well)-can pull away from the field, whether big names without a win like Sakura Yokomine, Shiho Oyama, Shinobu Moromizato, or Miki Saiki can finally break through, whether one of the top Koreans on tour like Ji-Hee Lee, Mi-Jeong Jeon, or Eun-A Lim can steal the spotlight, or whether one of the less-heralded players can get their 1st or 2nd win in this 72-hole event.
