Here is Mr “I’m going to analyze and OVER analyze Royal Birkdale so I’ll be ready for The Open next week” – but he’s playing the Scottish Open on a PARKLAND course – not a links course. Brilliant Phil – just brilliant.
Oh – where is the reigning Open champion ? Padraig is playing The Irish PGA Championship at The European Club – a true links course – where he warmed up last year for The Open. The prize money ? 12,500 pounds to the winner. The tournament is so informal that the galleries get to walk the fairways with the players instead of outside the ropes. Harrington gave a lot of credit to The European for last year’s win.
