JLPGA: Promise Ladies

Chie Arimura cruised to a big win over Shiho Oyama and Yuri Fudoh at the Promise Ladies, continuing the streak of 1-time winners on tour in 2008.

Ai or Yuri..or... ??

Hey Con – when Ai Miyazato gave up her “rock star” status in Japan and came over here, some people expected her to just jump in with both feet and win…so far it’s been fair, but not great for her. She isn’t very long compared to so many of the other ladies, and her short game seems to fall apart in tight situations. Seems like she’s giving up a lot of money playing over here – maybe she needed a place to breath away from Japan.

SO – what’s the word on Fudoh ? Will she be giving the LPGA a shot anytime soon ? Bigger game ? Anybody else thinking about taking a shot over here ?

so kind of you to ask

My sense is nobody over 30 will do it. Fudoh—no way. But among the younger players, there are several to keep an eye on:
