Storming the Castle Course
Golfers are sure to flock to the Castle Course. But Golfweek's European correspondent, Alistair Tait, says maybe golf travelers should think twice before storming the Castle:
Then there is what I can only describe as the “Don King Features” that adorn the course. How these were dreamt up is beyond me. Picture the boxing promoter’s distinctive head, with his hair sticking up. Mounds in the middle of fairways with footlong grass surrounding them abound.
There’s a “Don King” in the middle of the fifth fairway at about 265 yards. So you can hit a perfect tee shot up the middle and find your ball in knee-high grass.
Sorry, but if I split the fairway I want a clean lie, thank you.
Quite simply, the “Don Kings” need to go.
It's never a good thing when Don King is invoked.

lots of criticism
Allistair Tait has had a pretty good bit to say about this new course. He didn’t seem to be behind the idea from the start. They had a contest to see who would get to design the new layout – if this is the winner – imagine what the rejections looked like.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
I entered that contest ...
... and my suggestion was “The Robert Tyre Jones Course.” Which I still think should have won. My backup suggestion was “John Daly’s Mullets and Gullets Golf Club.”
