Carmen Bandea
The mystery golfer I wrote about last year has popped up again. Well, Carmen is not really a "mystery golf" - we know who she is, and we know what she (or her parents) tried to do: Turn her into Michelle Wie.
A long-driving early teens girl, Bandea set out to play against the men, turned pro at around 15, all the while also claiming that she'd pursue a professional tennis career. Michelle Wie without nearly as much talent, to sum it up.
But who knows? She played the Duramed Championship on the Futures Tour this week. Her scores were 77-72. She missed the cut, but the scores are better than I would have expected. It was her first Futures Tour appearance of the year.
She turned 18 two days ago. Perhaps it's not too late for Bandea to forge a respectable career path from here.

don't blame dad
CB did this on her own – not because of a pushy parent.
