Nordqvist Wins British Ladies Am
Anna Nordqvist lost the finals at the past two British Ladies Amateur Championship. Not this time. This time, Nordqvist won the most prestigious women's amateur golf title in Europe, defeating fellow Swede Caroline Hedwall in the championship match, 3 and 2.
Nordqvist attends Arizona State University and is a two-time All-America selection; she'll be a junior next season. The championship match ended on the 16th hole, and in less than three hours - "very good golf at the gallop!" as the Ladies Golf Union article puts it.
In the morning semifinals, Nordqvist defeated Scotland's Roseanne Niven 2 and 1; and Hedwall defeated her twin sister Jacqueline 4 and 3.
