Callaway Closing Ball Plant
According to Ping, it is the only company still running a foundry in the U.S. Not sure how many golf ball manufacturing plants remain here, but as of July 31 there'll be one less.
Callaway is closing its plant in Gloversville, N.Y., that employs around 120 workers, and shifting its work to China.
This particular plant opened in 1989 when it was owned by Spaulding and made Top-Flite and other Spaulding balls. Since 2003, it's been owned by Callaway after Callaway acquired the Top-Flite brand.
Callaway has a much larger ball plant in Mississippi that will take on some of the New York workers.

look out Mississippi
don’t you know that the folks in Mississippi are thrilled to know that 120 new “damn yankee carpet baggers” will be heading to their state ? (lol) just kidding – Mississippi is a beautiful state AND they have casinos !!
Callaway isn’t shutting down ALL ball production in the US. Just a guess, but with the expanding market in Asia, it makes more sense to manufacture balls there than to make them here and ship them. Too bad the reverse doesn’t work for clubs.
Bridgestone manufactures balls here in the US. They also make balls for Nike in the same factory here in Georgia.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"

New York has plenty of gambling on the Seneca and Oneida reservations, thank you very much!

don't forget...
...Atlantic City and the Connecticutt casinos aren’t too far away…but it’s a lot warmer in MS, golf year ‘round, and without all that nasty Mets and Yankees stuff to deal with. :-)
