T-Joh Second at NCAAs
Congratulations to Azahara Munoz of Arizona State, the 2008 NCAA women's individual champion. And dadgum her, too.
Because she defeated Tiffany Joh on the first playoff hole, rolling in a long birdie putt. Tiff was fifth last year, second in a playoff this year. Does anyone else smell a win in 2009?
I love watching Tiffany play. No matter how stressful the situation, she never lets it show. She always looks happy to be there. And she's fast. She pulls her club, gets over the ball, and fires. Especially nice to see on the greens, where she looks Baddeley-like pulling the trigger on putts.
Southern Cal won the team championship by six strokes over UCLA.
Tiffany now heads to Scotland for the Curtis Cup, which begins one week from today (Friday, May 30) at The Old Course.
