I hate birds and so I'm afraid if there are a lot birds on the course.

Where's the NRA...

...or Tripp Isenhour when you need them ?

Could this phobia keep Momoko out of the top 10 ?

Is she afraid of being attacked (a la Hitchcock’s “The Birds”) or is she afraid of being “dropped on” (a la Mel Brooks spoof of “The Birds” in “High Anxiety”) ?

Would the LPGA allow her to have one of those trained border collies walking the course with her and her caddy to chase off the ducks and geese ?

I've got it!

One word for bird in Japanese is Tori, so of course seeing birds reminds Momo-chan of the traumatizing effect of watching 90210 as an impressionable adolescent when the reruns made their way to Japan.

I concede the win to CG.

I don't know..

...Tori Spelling CAN be pretty scary !!

Momo-CHAN ? Is that the female version of a -San after a masculine name ?

Peach Boy ???

Wait, the -san/-chan is what translates to Peach Boy/Girl ? Or the Momoko part ?

Hmmm – Bobby Jones ? Or THE Georgia Peach – Ty Cobb ?

-san/-chan clarification

-san is for guys and could be used gender-neutrally to show respect

-chan is for girls and babies of both genders, and used to emphasize affection and kawaiitude….

got that part...

...the gender part I understood – it was the Peach Boy/Girl part I didn’t understand.

Were you saying that san/chan translate to peach boy/girl ? Or Momoko means peach ?

kawaiitude ??? I looked that up on Google and couldn’t find a definition.

you gotta read Mostly Harmless more regularly!

momo=peach (-ko is a diminutive, usually for girls and babies, so her name itself kind of means Peach Girl already)

kawaii (cute) + (att)itude=cuteness (my own coining)
