If all goes according to schedule, early Thursday morning the Waggle Room we all know and love will go offline. And an hour or two later, Waggle Room 2.0 will emerge.

What's Waggle Room 2.0? It's the new - and we hope you'll agree, improved - version of this blog. All of the blogs in the SB Nation network (all 125+ of them) are undergoing the changeover to SBN 2.0. Most of them have already emerged with the new design, new blogging platform (built from scratch by a crackerjack team of technonerds), and loads of new features. We Wagglers are stragglers. Waggle Room is one of the few remaining SBN blogs yet to make the switch.

But Thursday, our day will come.

What's changing? Well, the look of our site will be radically different. It may take some getting used to, as all changes do, but the new design will result in an easier-to-read site (at the most basic level, simply because of a larger type size and better font) that also makes reader contributions easier to find and navigate.

There will be new features, too. Your Waggle Room login will also log you into every other site in the SBN network that you choose to "join." Your "user page" will display your most recent posts and comments, and also be customizable with an avatar and other personal touches you can choose to add.

And you'll have additional ways to add content to Waggle Room. The diaries will still exist, but they'll have a new name - Fan Posts. If you feel like adding a blog entry to Waggle Room, you'll choose the Fan Post option. And you'll be able to "vote up" Fan Posts that you like so that they appear in a "Recommended Posts" spotlight section.

But maybe you don't want to write a post that meets the minimum length requirements for Fan Posts, yet you still want to add something other than a comment. Well, then you'll choose the new Fan Shots option. Fan Shots are quick hits you'll be able to use to pass along a video you found on YouTube; to recommend a link; to showcase a photo; to pass along a quote from a player; to post a poll. To post something short and sweet - perhaps with a sentence or two of commentary from you, or perhaps not.

There'll be a lot more to explore, and on Thursday we should all be able to start exploring.
