Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Anna Rawson

Anna Rawson's writing a blog for Yahoo. She's playing in Mexico this week, one of the weakest fields you'll ever see on the LPGA Tour. Great opportunity for Anna (and lots and lots of other players who aren't fully exempt) to make some scratch and claw their way up the money list. (Hmmm, bad writing -- should have said claw before I said scratch. Oh well.)

So Anna went out and shot an 86 today. All that modeling wears on a person. Wonder what she'll say in her blog about this one.

Mmmm - Annnaaaaaaa :-)
I'm guessing that by Saturday, Anna might have some advice on good beach spots to work on the tan.

(you don't think she types with those legs, too, do you ?)

You're right about the field - looks like they got tired of being beaten around the head and shoulders by Lorena Ochoa. (I don't know why the top players didn't want to go back to Mexico - after all, they were offered all the water they could drink) :-D

at least Kournikova had some game
I actually thought Rawson would be doing better in her LPGA events this year--paid her dues, etc.  But it looks like she has been enjoying the US too much....  Maybe this score will be a wake-up call.

consider this...
...a world class hottie like Anna Rawson or Natalie Gulbis is going to make a lot more money away from the golf course than she ever will on.  I think they make allowances in the win column to cash in on the modelling, endorsement, and appearance columns.

good point
but if you're as faithful a viewer of the Japanese tv drama Hottie Paradise as I am, you'll know that you can be hot and a world-class high jumper at the same time.  Faithful in the sense of mistaking fiction for reality, that is.

Hottie Paradise ???
I've never heard of that show - but I like the sound of it.

Not an anime show, is it ?

Rawson = no game
Take a look at her record - 2005 Futures Tour, 2006-7 LET - and use those numbers to tell me how much game Rawson has.  She just happened to play well enough Q-School week to take the Conditional #1 spot.

"Hottie Paradise".  I can't believe Fox hasn't picked up on that one yet.

yeah but...
...look at those LEGS !! :-)

True - her game hasn't progressed very far - but she does have some talent.  I'm just afraid that the attention she got for her looks has outweighed her desire to be the best golfer she can be.

sorry, y'all
Hottie Paradise is definitely more eye candy for the ladies and the guys who like guys than for the guys and the ladies who like ladies, but it is hilarious and fansubbed on Veoh.

I actually think her game has backslid big-time.  She really was talking the right talk before the season and I was hoping she had the mindset to push herself here.  But now I think she made the wrong decision to come to the States in the first place when she's such a low-ranked conditional player.  At least she should be playing more Futures Tour events.  I think she may have some LET status that's better than her LPGA.  Maybe she'll pack it up and head there to hone her game.  She certainly needs a 180 to have a chance to get her card via the LPGA money list....

But, yeah, for the record:  she is way way way hotter than Gulbis.  I just want her around to help people appreciate Gulbis's game and commitment more....

give her a little time
she's only been over here a short time and is finding out what she needs to do to improve.  remember, she was highly touted back in Australia, sometimes even for her golf.

I think she has the game to make it on the LPGA - just needs to sharpen up.  I'm sure her management is telling her to work on it.  If she can be just a top 50 player on the tour, her off course earnings will skyrocket.

#1 spot--really?
Whoops, just read HD's comment more carefully--she has the #1 conditional spot??  OK, if so, she's right to be here, but the Futures Tour is calling....
