Yuu tell 'em Rog

Roger Maltbie just got a little testy with Johnny Miller on the air. Go Rog!

Miller said  he didn't remember the hole location on No. 10 being where it is today and threw that comment to Roger. Maltbie replied that he does remember it being there.

Miller then "explained" that the hole location on the weekend is usually in this other location, or that other location, but not where it's at today. "I've been covering this tournament for a long time," he condescendingly said to Maltbie.

But Maltbie fired back, "I've been right here with you John." Then added, "I'm the little guy down in the fairway."

Get out of your ivory broadcast tower Johnny!

Saw that too
Maltbie was peeved, as was clear by the tone in his voice. But Miller recovered somewhat gracefully, laughing and saying something along the lines of, "Well, I'm a little older than you, my memory must be going."

"Graceful" as a bull in a china shop
Somehow, I kind of doubt Miller got away with that lame "apology" after the broadcast.  He owed (owes) Maltby more than that dismissive comment - though I kind of doubt an arrogant SOB like Miller would ever humble himself that way.  After all - he IS the greatest golfer of all time, right...RIGHT ??  Just ask him ! :-)

Yesterday ...
... they were watching Geoff Ogilvy's finish and Miller commented that it reminded him of the old "reverse C" finish. Koch said, "You used to have some of that reverse C didn't you John?" And Miller replied, "Yeah, I invented it."

Perfected and popularized it, maybe, but I doubt he invented it. (Once saw Mark Lye go off on the "horrible" reverse-C move, blaming it for oodles of back injuries in the 1970s and 80s.)

only the greatest golfer of all time could "invent" up with a finish like that...right ?  RIGHT ??

Miller was on fire this weekend, wasn't he ? lol
