Welcome Back, Ernie
It was little more than a week ago that some yahoo golf blogger wrote these ridiculous words:
But Els, to me, is starting to have the look of a broken, beaten-down golfer. He's still the No. 4-ranked player in the world, he did win in Europe last year. But it's been a while since Els made a splash on the course. Well, except for his ball splashing into the water in a couple recent late-round collapses.
My impression - and I hope I'm wrong about this - is that we've seen the last of Ernie Els as a consistently great golfer, as someone who deserves consideration as a potential champion at every major.
I've always expected to Els to win another one, maybe even two, majors. I no longer do. If he wins another one or two regular PGA Tour stops, and another two to four European Tour stops, that may be all for which we can hope.
Oooo, boy, I'm glad I'm not that guy! .... huh? what's that you say? Oh, right ...
You know, I could try to hide from those words, or rationalize them, or disavow them. But I'm going to do something much better: I'm going to take credit for Ernie Els' win today in the Honda Classic.
Because Ernie - obviously - read what I wrote, took offense, got seriously PO'd, and set out to prove me wrong.
And so to you, Ernie Els, I say this: You're welcome.

just dump Dr Bob
Personally, I'm a bit tired of this cutesy practice by doctors who work with adults, but use the title and their first name.
