Seve Ballesteros Released From Hospital

Golfing great Seve Ballesteros was released from a Spanish hospital Tuesday, over two months after undergoing surgery to remove a malignant tumor from his brain.

Ballesteros, 51, will continue to be treated as an outpatient, Madrid’s La Paz Hospital said in a statement.

“The patient Severiano Ballesteros has been discharged this morning by the Department of Neurosurgery and has already left the hospital,” the statement said. “He will continue to have outpatient treatment in the Departments of Radiotherapy and Medical Oncology.”

This is good news, certainly.  Of course, we still don't know the long-term prognosis and do know that Seve's type of brain tumor is likely malignant.  But it's good to see Seve in good enough condition to go home.
