The 19th Hole Golf Show - 12/4/08
This week's 19th Hole Golf Show is presented in part by The Macallan and The Macallan 18.
We are through two rounds of the PGA and LPGA Tour Q-Schools. With Michelle Wie leading, is the pressure on? How come we recognize more names at PGA Tour Q-School? Clubfitter extraordinare Tom Wishon joins me to talk his new book, The Right Sticks, and what you should do to get your clubs to fit your game. Finally, we air part one of our interview with San Diego Union-Tribune reporter Brent Schrotenboer and discuss the costs of the US Open for San Diego, the Friends of Torrey Pines, and the USGA's profit from the event.

#%$&@#% Golf Channel
The final group off the first tee at the Legends course Friday is Michelle Wie, Shiho Oyama, and Stacy Lewis. That’s good television! Unfortunately our friends at GC probably have another bank of infomercials no one will watch.

I'd enjoy watching that
I think any golf fan would enjoy that more. But that doesn’t make any money.

Michelle Wie attracts eyeballs. Any time she’s playing viewership increases, which means they’ll get more revenue from the commercials. I guess they’re going to show the final round of the PGA Q-School, which has no really significant participants, and ignore the LPGA.

It's interestnig
From an editorial standpoint, TGC sees LPGA Q School as more newsworthy. It lead Golf Central last night.

there's only one reason for that...
…Michelle Wie is the biggest name in either Q-school
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
