Carolyn Bivens Makes One Sixth What Tim Finchem Does
The AP's Doug Ferguson notes in his weekly column that LPGA Tour Commissioner Carolyn Bivens' salary is dwarfed by Tim Finchem's (whose is dwarfed by GART BETTMAN):
According to the most recent IRS forms available for the LPGA Tour, commissioner Carolyn Bivens earned $710,812 in salary and benefits in 2006. Two years earlier, in his final full year as LPGA commissioner, Votaw was paid $478,897.
Finchem made $4.8 million this year, per a Sports Business Journal report this week. He was in the top 5 on the money list. Bivens would place at 14th on the LPGA Tour money list and 119th on the 2006 PGA Tour money list. Finchem would clearly lead the LPGA Tour money list.
Does that sound about right to you?

welll...
Finchem didn’t cause near the amount of trouble that Bivens did. The PGA Tour made a good bit more than 6 times what the LPGA had for tournament money – so maybe Finchem is underpaid in comparison, or Bivens is OVERpaid.
Nah – they make what they make. I have no idea what their salaries on the money lists has to do with anything – but Bivens needs a bump in pay to take those charm school classes.
