Sterne Finds Way Into Masters
South African Richard Sterne sat at 113th in the Official World Golf Rankings just a couple of weeks ago. Then he went on a roll on the European Tour in South Africa. He won the Alfred Dunhill Championship two weeks ago, and yesterday captured the South African Open Championship in a playoff.
The back to back wins catapulted Sterne into the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings. And that means that Sterne is going to the Masters.
Rory McIlroy also found his way into the top 50 by virtue of a great finish to last season and start to this one.
Thirteen other players qualified through the top 50 exemption. The others were were Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer, Ross Fisher, Luke Donald, Shingo Katayama, Graeme McDowell, Rory Sabbatini, Jeev Milkha Singh, Aaron Baddeley, Oliver Wilson, Soren Hansen, Tang and Soren Kjeldsen.

that's a great list
I’m looking forward to seeing Rory McIlroy at Augusta. He has a lot of talent.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Me too
It is just a matter of time before he wins a LOT on the Euro Tour. Chris Wood is making a good showing for himself, too.
