ADT Weekend Will Be Without Annika and Lorena

If you had told me that Annika Sorenstam, the best female golfer ever - in her final LPGA Tour event for a long time - and Lorena Ochoa - the defending champion, Player of the Year, and leading money winner - wouldn't be in the weekend at ALL for the ADT Championship...

...I would call you a blasphemer.  And you would be right.

The only one of the LPGA Triumverate that made it to Saturday's reset round is Paula Creamer.  Creamer can win the money list title with a victory.

Katherine Hull and Angela Stanford have been playing great lately, and they kept it up through two rounds by placing first and second in the opening leg.  Who knows what the reset tomorrow will bring.

Seven Asian players will make the Saturday round and In Kyung Kim qualified best.  My money is still on Ji Yai Shin.

The South of the border factor

Says Angela Park will win Sunday. Ochoa was born in Mexico, Granada in Paraguay, Park in Brazil. If only Natalie Gulbis was around on Sunday and got paired with Angela. Then we’d know it was a lock.

Haha

Good pattern – you’re right on Gulbis. I can see that happening.

Not this year

But in 2006 and 2007, Natalie played with the winner of the ADT on Sunday. In 2006 she was paired with Granada, in 2007 she played with Ochoa.

ah - I see

I was trying to figure out how Gulbis got into the “south of the border” club

I don’t think they were implying she was part of the club, but was trying to show that if Angela had been paired with Gulbis on Sunday it would’ve been a lock for her to win, by both being South of the Border, and with Gulbis playing with the eventual winner for two years.
