Candie Kung is a Winner Again on the LPGA Tour
It's kind of funny. A couple of weeks ago, I saw Candie Kung in contention at the Navistar event and wondered why she never did win more than 3 times on the LPGA Tour. I also wondered if she would ever win again. About a month later, she did!
Kung picked up her fourth career LPGA Tour win at the Hana Bank KOLON Championship. Her final round of -3 was good enough to hold off Katherine Hull - the day 1 leader - and take the title.
With difficult scoring conditions all week, three consistent rounds were required to win. Hull disqualified herself in that regard with a Saturday 76. Kung, finishing at 210, averaged 70 strokes without a blow-up of any kind. Jee Young Lee cost herself a closer shot at the title with an opening 74.
Jeong Jang was consistent in scoring her was to -4 and a tie for third - her best finish since June in Rochester.
