World Golf Tour Game
I don't know how much golf you play in the video game world, but I have been playing golf video games since the first days of EA Sports PGA Tour Golf...for my Sega Genesis. Over the years, I started playing Microsoft Links - which was awesome - and then took up playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf when it stopped being a cartoon. It's why I have a Playstation 2. (I don't have PS3, but will shill for one for free. I digress.)
About a year ago, though, I started playing a Beta game called World Golf Tour. They had one course for a few holes. Interestingly enough, it was Bali Hai in Vegas - a course I have played. Actually, it's a Billy Walters property. I really enjoyed playing the game online because it had very realistic graphics, game properties and the like, but was easy to play and enjoy. The best parts were that it was completely online and free.
Well, now, the World Golf Tour game is out from Beta and it turned out to be pretty popular. This month, they had their millionth round played - approximately 1 month after open. The popularity of the game speaks for itself. They have expanded courses to include Kiawah Island and you can play the game using virtual TaylorMade equipment. That's convenient for me as the original RAC irons are the sticks I carry in my bag now.
The graphics are in HD quality and the application, as you may guess, is Flash-based. If you have a slow or older computer, it may be a drag on your memory and you might not be able to multitask. That's not to say that you'll want to.
Playing the game is easy and the tutorials on the World Golf Tour blog make learning simple. And, the best part for me, is that it's not blocked at the office.
I invite you to check it out when you get a chance. Maybe we can start a league on here? Also, check out the blog that Peter Kessler has on their site. I stumbled on it while writing this review and was stoked to read him.

...at the office...
Pardon the opinion/observation from an old goat…
Years ago one person was assigned to a job – these days we have two or three people assigned, an paid, to do the the same amount of work.
The only difference between then and now: Playing games on your computer at work.
Don't worry, nothing will be allright.
Haha, so true
Unfortunately these days, I don’t have a lot of time to fully appreciate that since I’m 1 guy doing two people’s jobs. But, when I can, I’d like to give it another try here because this computer at work has much more memory than my home PC.
