Waggle Room & Golf News Net Announce Charity Golf Auction Program
October 15, 2008 – The popular golf blog Waggle Room (http://www.waggleroom.com), in conjunction with Golf News Net (http://www.thegolfnewsnet.com), is pleased to announce a new charity golf auction program that starts today.
Waggle Room is a well-known and established golf blog covering all topics in the game. On a regular basis, golf equipment manufacturers submit products to Ryan Ballengee, the blog’s editor and moderator, for review. Rather than testing a product for review and simply holding onto it, Waggle Room will now make many of these very gently used products available to readers of Waggle Room and listeners of the Golf News Net’s podcasts through auction site eBay. All of the proceeds from the auctions will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
“We are thrilled to be able to have an opportunity to start this program,” says Waggle Room moderator Ryan Ballengee. “Waggle Room can add to the value of the product reviews for our site. Manufacturers and golf retailers will continue to get a fair review of their product and increase their exposure to the marketplace. Our readers and listeners will still be able to access these reviews and learn more about products and courses that may be of interest to them. In addition, they can now potentially acquire the very lightly used products at a significant savings. Most importantly, the American Cancer Society will receive all of the money raised by the auctions.
“Everyone involved will benefit from this new program. I hope that many golf equipment manufacturers and retailers will sign on and join us in this critical effort.”
The first manufacturer to agree to be a part of the program is Sweet Spot Golf (http://www.sweetspotgolf.net). The California manufacturer of a full line of golf equipment already donates money to the National Breast Cancer Foundation from the proceeds of sales of their Pink line of clubs.
“Sweet Spot Golf has a strong belief in giving back to the community and we have actually made this a part of our company DNA by dedicating our line of custom women's clubs to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer research by making a donation for each and every club that we sell,” says Brian Allman, President, Sweet Spot Golf LLC.
Manufacturers interested in participating in the program can contact Ryan Ballengee by email at ryan@thegolfnewsnet.com.
