Seve Has a Brain Tumor
Seve went into the hospital recently for a fainting spell and a nasty fall as a result. The British papers had been reporting that things were much worse than a simply faint.
This from the Times:
Seve Ballesteros, the most flamboyant golfer of his generation, confirmed yesterday that he had a brain tumour, but said that he was ready to “confront the most difficult match of his life”.
It is not yet known if the tumour is malignant, and Ballesteros, 51, will undergo a biopsy tomorrow. The Spaniard, who won five majors including three Opens, has been in hospital in Madrid since collapsing a week ago.
Obviously some terrible news. I'm pretty sure that everyone has been impacted in some way by cancer, but this is particularly troubling for the golf world.

biopsy today (Monday)
Ok – they’re doing the biopsy today. Anybody know how long it takes to get the results back ? (I watch “House” and they get it done in 3-5 minutes)

It can be done pretty quickly
A few years back, I had a biopsy done on my eye to see what kind of infection I had it in (gross, I know), and I had the results about an hour after I left the hospital.

I guess about 2 hours
Long story, but I had millions of amoeba in my eye. It’s about a one in a million kind of infection. But, I’m ok now :)

glad to hear it...
…though I’m pretty sure I don’t want to hear THAT story…aren’t amoeba usually found in ponds and swamps and whale bellies ?? :-)

Spanish reaction
A couple of posts over at Fuera de Limites can give you a limited sense of the reaction in Spain.

Haha
I can read Spanish well. Speaking it is ok, but enough to do pretty well in Costa Rica and Panama in the last couple of years :)
