dottie blows it

stu said last week he thought maybe dottie pepper blew her chance to be solheim cup captain because of what she said on the air. you know, chokin freakin dogs. just wanted to pass along what i read in golf world. they are saying that pepper was always supposed to be  alock to be captain, no surprise there. now they are saying that dottie is a longshot to ever be captain because she made so many people mad. they didnt quote anyone but i think golf world has a pretty good track record on stuff liike this so it's probably true. i think dottie sank her chances ... too bad because she was just being honest something we dont see enough of in golf tv booths

honesty OFF the air
I guess Dottie learned a lesson about waiting for the on air light to go off.  That comment was not supposed to be for public consumption.

Personally, I think this will blow over - the players will rib her for a while and eventually all will be forgiven.  You can't NOT have Dottie Pepper as Solheim captain - she's meant too much to the American squad over the years.

beat me to the punch
I saw that article today, too, and meant to post about it.

The article said that Beth Daniel was almost certain to be the next U.S. captain, which seems entirely appropriate. She's the next in line, so to speak, if you're following the LPGA timeline of stars ...

The article also pointed out that Betsy King and Daniel were teammates at Furman. That must have been a helluva team. Dottie Pepper also went to Furman, although about 8 or 10 years behind King and Daniel.
