Ochoa, Sorenstam on Collision Course at Women's British Open
Wouldn't it be great to have Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam paired together in the final round of a major championship, and having to settle it on the final hole?
I think it would. But we're only halfway through the Women's British Open, and plenty of great storylines are still there waiting to emerge. Ochoa vs. Sorenstam is just one of them.
Here's how things stand after the second round:
Leaders
Lorena Ochoa, 67-73--140 (-6)
Wendy Ward, 71-70--141 (-5)
Catriona Matthew, 73-68--141 (-5)
Annika Sorenstam, 72-71--143 (-3)
Sherri Steinhauer, 72-71--143 (-3)
Yuri Fudoh, 74-69--143 (-3)
Rebecca Hudson, 70-73--143 (-3)
Karine Icher, 72-71--143 (-3)
Notables
Sophie Gustafson, 144
Jee Young Lee, 145
Se Ri Pak, 146
Juli Inkster, 147
Brittany Lincicome, 147
Paula Creamer, 148
Cristie Kerr, 148
Natalie Gulbis, 149
Karrie Webb, 150
Ai Miyazato, 150
Missed the Cut
(Note: Three players were unable to complete the second round, so this is unofficial.)
Laura Davies, 152
Angela Park, 152
Michelle Wie, 153
Jeong Jang, 153
Morgan Pressel, 156
Mi Hyun Kim, 157
Julieta Granada, 159
Who might come out of the pack on Saturday? I like the chances of Gustafson and Pak to make moves.

ouch
BTW, that back has turned a lot of good rounds bad and bad rounds awful already--and the weather has been great for St. Andrews. I dissed Ron Sirak in my latest at Mostly Harmless, but if the weather does turn bad, you could see someone playing early Sunday making a charge and hanging on while the leaders struggle. It's been a pattern on the tour this year, and the Old Course may exacerbate it.

She seemed to handle it fairly well.
Other than that, it can still be anybodys tournament if they are in that 6 shot area.
