U.S. Open Predictions: Waggle Room Diarists

I published the predictions from beat writers and bloggers yesterday. I'll be posting my own predictions later today (update: now posted here).

So it's time to check in with a few of our Waggle Room "diarists" to see what their picks are. Here we go:

• Winner: Jim Furyk (a k a the super duper looper)
• Runner-up: Luke Donald (I like his accent, and how he has that lopsided, goofy smile whenever he feels mischievous. And no, I haven't been stalking him....recently)
• Sleeper: Colin Montgomerie (Lord, PLEASE!)

Janell Howland, janellaxo
• Winner: Tiger obviously, everyone is going to pick him.
• Runner-up: Vijay, just because everyone likes to see the two of them deck it out.
• Sleeper: David Toms. I just like his game. You never know, he could come out with a big one.

Kevin Hunt, acadgolf
• Winner: Phil Mickelson
• Runner-up: Vijay Singh
• Sleeper: Rod Pampling

Mancil Davis, aces51
• Winner: Tiger Woods. Tiger wins it by two over ...
• Runner-up: Jim Furyk. And just in case they both fall ...
• Sleeper: Stewart Cink

Bogey McDuff
• Winner: Jim Furyk
• Runner-up: Zach Johnson
• Sleeper: Brett Wetterich

BobS
• Winner: Ernie Els
• Runner-up: Tiger Woods
• Sleeper: Stuart Appleby

Ernie won at Oakmont the last time the Open was played here. Those good memories are what he needs to break out of his funk.
