Ogilvy vs. Stenson

You know, Geoff Ogilvy vs. Henrik Stenson is actually quite a good matchup. It's not the final of the WGC Match Play Championship that fans - or especially NBC - were hoping for. But given that all the stars exited early, it's not a bad final.

Still, that this sort of final - lacking in star power - happens as often as not in this tournament is good reason to oppose the expansion of match play on the PGA Tour.

Every now and then you hear someone on TV or in one of the golf magazines arguing that one of the majors should switch to a match-play format. I am here to pooh-pooh that idea. And fortunately, someone already did it for me, using the same arguments I'd use.
