Bob May, Peter Tomasulo, Greg Chalmers, Bubba Dickerson, David McKenzie and Miguel Angel Carballo are the guys who finished just one stroke short.

But they, along with everyone else from 26 through around 76, get fully exempt Nationwide Tour status in 2008, and everyone in the field after that receives conditional status on the Nationwide.

The biggest movers on Monday were Todd Demsey, who closed with a 64; and Duffy Waldorf, who closed with a 66.

Going the other direction, Andrew Bonhomme dropped from 21st to 47th with a 75; Geoffrey Sisk from 17th to 62nd with a 77.

Tommy Gainey also posted a 77 in the final round, but was so good the rest of the week it didn't matter. (Comments on Gainey below.)

Gainey will be the most fun to watch from this group. Asian Tour products Y.E. Yang and Jin Park are good bets for longterm success. College star Dustin Johnson is the guy from this group who I think has the most upside.

heartbreakers
It just doesn't get any tougher - not only did these guys miss a PGA Tour card by a shot, but they did it knowing that they couldn't post much of a score.

Greg Chalmers and Bubba Dickerson shot -1, Bill Lunde and Matthew Every shot even par, and JJ Killeen was +2.  All five were T25 after the fifth round.

Miguel Angel Carballo was sitting on the eventual cut line to start the final round and would have a card in his wallet had he shot even par.  He started the final round with three birdies in the first four holes, carded pars from 5-15 - then hit the wall.  Double bogey, bogey, bogey...one over...Nationwide Tour.  That really hurts.
