frickin big break
ha ha, frickin'! that's the word roger fonnest kept saying over and over last night in the first episode. one of the other contestants matt vick said something like, "you act that way when you chug 30 red bulls a day." great line ... fonnest was the little guy, the underdog on the show, so its too bad he got the boot first time out ... i bet the golf channel doenst like to see him go.
at least there were some guys on this one that APPEARED to have great swings and games, and maybe even a few good heads ... i liked hiroshi, he seemed well grounded and not jerky with some good perspective
i still cant believe the pga tour agreed to be a part of this though ... it's a frickin reality tv show

xxx Golf Channel or MTV ?
There are a couple of guys who look like they play seriously - and a bunch of guys who got picked because they look like they play golf when not playing in a garage band. (maybe they'll bring in the guys from Hootie and the Blowfish or Kenny G for this one)
The funniest comments of the show were definitely about the long drive guy and how big he is. Too bad the little guy from New York busted out. He was very entertaining.
Can't say I was real impressed with Rick Schwartz as a host. He was very stiff and had the deer in the headlights expression the whole time.

so-so
I mentioned in my post yesterday about how each year they seem to play less golf on this show. Think about it: last night they only hit THREE shots, and then it was on to the elimination. Even Tiger could mess up three shots in a row. OK, not Tiger, but ... say, Mike Weir. Three shots is nothing. That's no way to try to pick the best golfer.
